There are big things happening at the Texas State Aquarium this summer and Jeanie decided to stop by and show us around! They are currently working on expanding the Aquarium. We found out that in 2017 there will be a new Caribbean Shark Exhibit introduced. Even with construction going on the doors are open for summer fun! Jeanie took us around the aquarium to see all of the great exhibits they already offer.

Her first stop was the Island of Steel where she got to see the new additions to the exhibit! Then she stopped by to check out everything from the Stingray Lagoon where Jeanie got to pet some friendly rays. To getting up close and personal with the rescued sea turtles in Tortuga Cay. There is also Dolphin Bay where you can watch Shadow and Kai, the two-bottlenose dolphins, play in the underwater viewing room. Jeanie loved seeing the playful dolphins twist and turn for her as she watched.

The aquarium is a great place for family fun and to also learn about many aquatic and land animals. They have many animals that are native to South Texas and also from all over the world!

There is something for everyone at the aquarium. Whether it is getting a front row seat to the dolphin shows, watching the otters play in Otter Creek, or having the kids cool off in the HEB Splash Park. There are endless ways for you and your family enjoy yourselves at the Texas State Aquarium. So make sure to stop by and talk to Jeanie about getting your tickets to the Aquarium during your stay at Port Royal!
