It’s time to get ready for the 37th Annual Fulton Oysterfest! Each year the Fulton Volunteer Department pulls out all the stops in preparation for this popular event. From carnival rides, games, food, oyster eating contests, live music to unique vendor booths and more, the Oysterfest proceeds are a major source of funding for life-saving and fire fighting equipment in the community and is also fun the whole family can enjoy! In 2011, the festival brought a record breaking 36,000 visitors to the waterfront in Fulton, Texas. The 2016 festival is scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd – Sunday, March 6th at the Fulton Navigation Park – you won’t want to miss it!  Here are the three contests you’ll what to know about:

Contests:

• Men’s and Women’s Raw Oyster Eating Contests
• 1st Place – $200
• 2nd Place – $100
• 3rd Place – $50

• Oyster Shucking Contest
• 1st Place – $700
• 2nd Place – $200
• 3rd Place – $100

• Oyster Decorating Contest
• 1st Place – $100
• 2nd Place – $50
• 3rd Place – $25
