5 Things to Take to the Beach
1. Cheap sunglasses with UVA and UVB protection
Don’t you dare lose or damage your $200 pair of sunglasses! Save yourself some grief and pack or buy a cheaper pair for you and the kids. Cheaper sunglasses should always offer the same amount of UVA and UVB protection and if you lose them it won’t put a damper on your beach day.
2. Toys for the kids
One thing we know for sure is that kids love being active on the beach. They love to build, dig, play and create. More things to keep them entertained means more relaxing for you. Be sure to pack a variety of toys for them so they can maximize their fun time on the beach while you get to lay back and catch some rays.
3. Sunscreen
It’s the first thing we think to pack when it comes to what we’d need at the beach but it’s often the first thing we forget while we’re actually there. Be sure to pack it for you and the kids but more importantly remember to reapply. Sunscreens should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure to allow the ingredients to fully bind to the skin. Keep in mind that even the best sunscreens need to be reapplied every two hours.
4. Canopy and chairs
If you’re planning to lounge at the beach, it’ll be more comfortable under a canopy with some shade. Chairs are a great option since sitting on the sand may be uncomfortable for many folks after a few hours.
5. Snacks and water
It’s always good idea to pack snacks and water for a day at the beach. Leaving the beach just to grab a water won’t be pleasant. A little bit of pre-planning can save you the trouble of having to cut your beach day short. It’s important to keep hydrated on a hot day so you’ll want to come prepared.
