Position Title: Houseman

Department: Housekeeping

Accountable to: Housekeeping Manager

Primary Objective of Position:

To maximize guest satisfaction by providing positive service to guests and co-workers in accordance with Port Royal standards

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Meets and exceeds guest and team member expectations by providing positive and courteous service and teamwork
  • Provides value added service to guests by doing whatever reasonable and possible to meet or exceed guest expectations
  • Communicates effectively with guests, supervisors and co-workers
  • Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
  • Handles difficult situations effectively
  • Performs other duties as required to provide positive and courteous service and teamwork
  • Ensures guest satisfaction by cleaning elevators, windows, hallways, floors, stairwells, walls, doors, trashcans, and outside bathrooms daily according to operational policies and standards
  • Picks up trash and soiled linen from guest units
  • Shampoos carpets in guest units and Port Royal public areas as needed
  • Power washes building when needed
  • Cleans bathroom areas of outside bathrooms
  • Reports unusual circumstances to Housekeeping Department
  • Turns in articles found in Housekeeping office for “Lost and Found” handling
  • Maximizes job efficiency and neat, orderly appearance by maintaining supply cart and work area
  • Replenishes room attendants carts with linens and amenities when needed
  • Empties carts at the end of the day and puts them away
  • Notifies Housekeeping Department immediately if any stock shortages exist
  • Ensures safety and maximum security
  • Reports any damages and unsafe areas to supervisor, security or engineering
  • Adheres to Port Royal policies and procedures
  • Attends work on the time as scheduled
  • Follows Port Royal’s grooming and dress standards
  • Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
  • At all times projects a favorable image of Port Royal Homeowner Association to the public
