Fourth of July is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to start celebrating with family and friends.  In-between patriotic daytime drinking, grilling copious amounts of meat, and lounging by the pool, you may be looking to enjoy a nearby fireworks show or an event.  Here are some fun things happening in the area as well a few of the fun things we’ve got planned for you and the kids!

 

1.  Dive-In Movies

It’s time to pack your favorite float!  Catch a Dive-In Movie by the pool this Friday at 8:15pm (weather permitting).  On rainy days the festivities will be moved indoors, for the show must go on!  This is open for guests of all ages.  So grab your favorite float and jump in or just lounge around the pool for the show.

 

2.  Rockport Art Festival

Looking for some summer fun on the Texas Coast?  Don’t miss the 46th Annual Rockport Art Festival on July 4th weekend!  From live music shows to more than 120 exhibiting juried artists from Texas and beyond, it’s no surprise 10,000 attended the annual event last year.  You won’t want to miss!  More info here.

 

3.  Slip N’ Slide & Washer Tournament

Happy Birthday, America – let’s slide our way into summer!  Between dips in our heated pool and sipping on a special Fourth of July cocktail, you may want to join in on some Fourth of July festivities.  Join us at 2pm for some poolside fun including Washer Tournament and Slip N’Slide!

 

4.  Free Yoga & Sandcastle Building Classes

You’re on vacation, now it’s time to destress.  Saturdays are especially fun-filled with Yoga and Sandcastle Building lessons here at Port Royal – the best part, they’re free!  No need to bring your own yoga gear as it will be included in your lesson.  Stop by our front desk for more information.

 

5.  Patriotic Boat Parade

In Rockport, the celebrations start early.  At noon decorated boats will parade through Little Bay.  For more information, call 361 729-6445.

 

6.  Port Aransas 4th of July Fireworks
You can’t have Fourth of July without a fireworks show!  The fun starts at dark thirty or about 9pm at Roberts Point Park.  For more information, call 361-749-4111.

 

7.  Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet
